Arrrgh!
I can't stand it when they start putting out Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff before Halloween is even close to being over. Nothing kills my seasonal buzz like being greated at the front door of Walmart by an inflatable Santa in the third week of October...
Put the Turkey day and Christmas items somewhere else in the store until after Oct, 31. Just don't have it right at the front where it's one of the first things you see.
UGH! Tell me about it! I love Christmas as much as the next person, but I usually don't get into a Christmasy mood until November rolls around. And to top it off, Dollar Tree already has Christmas decorations out! Geesh!
Halloween I can understand, we've all been waiting months to see skeletons and ghouls and pumpkins about! But August is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too soon for Holly Jollys.

In the Lakeside collection we got not one, but two Christmas 2009 catalogs. Talk about getting an early start on Christmas shopping! Even the Harvest 2009 stuff had Christmas stuff in it. I suppose I can understand a catalog though, since it takes time for stuff to come in the mail. But gee whiz, they could've left the Christmas stuff out of the harvest issue. (Unless it's one of those multi-holiday flags that feature a pole and different flags for different seasons. Usually they have Halloween, Christmas, Valinetines, St Patty's, Easter and Fourth of July. There's this goose you can get somewhere, I can't remember where, that you can dress up for every occasion. I believe I once saw a kitty you can dress up in different costumes for different occasions too.)

That drives me nuts, too. Seeing Christmas decorations up in the stores in the middle of August and September really does over comercialize that Holiday, and as much as I love Christmas and it's traditions, I much prefer to keep them in their proper time. Of course, we all come in here through out the entire year and talk about Halloween, but then again, we're not putting up outdoor Halloween decorations in the middle of March, or lighting off Fireworks in the middle of November.
I allway say "To each his/her own," but I can definately understand why anyone would be annoyed at seeing Christmas decorations up in August. But there are stores in my area that sells them on clearance in June and July. They also sell other holiday itemes as well for very cheap prices. That I can understand.

If anyone is in the San Diego area, there's a Halloween store at the corner of Del Mar Heights Road and Camino Real. In the very corner of the plaza. I didn't have a chance to stop in the other day but I will next time I'm in the area.
I also spotted some decorations today in the Costco in Mission Valley. Haven't seen any Spirit stores yet. They usually don't start popping up till the end of August.
The banners for the Boo! Parade are up on the streetlights near San Diego State University. Maybe I'll actually make it to the parade this year instead of working on my costumes?

I went to The Dollar Store today (not the same as The Dollar Tree) to get some things and saw Thanksgiving stuff more prominently displayed than their Halloween items. In fact, the Turkey Day things nearly hit me right between the eyes, while I had to look around for Halloween stuff.
It's their store and they can do whatever they want, but it was rather annoying.

I went to Target yesterday and they had kid's Hello Kitty Halloween shirts! They also had some glittery decorative pumpkins.

Also, Halloween cards seem to be out in most stores I've been too. I actually bought some Brach's Candy Corn today, and just eating a few pieces puts me in the Halloween spirit.

AHH the Harvest Mix is the best because it has those little pumpkins in it. There is nothing like Candy Corn around this time of year, its the best snack. My only problem is that I eat too much and I end up getting a pretty bad stomach ache.

I asked and someone at my local walmart said they would get their halloween stuff within a couple weeks. They already have stuff in the craft section, and I even spotted some Halloween bandanas.
Wegmans, a local grocery store has Halloween candy and cake mixes/frosting from Pillsberry.
I bought a cute "Happy Halloween" sign from Dollar General today, it has a cat but the cat has this Jack 'o' lantern face on it, giving it a cute and creepy look to it.
