And now it begins. The commercialization of space. I just hope Falcon 9 doesn't crash into the space station and set us back 50 years. Next up? Mining asteroids. How long you guys think it will be before we're celebrating Halloween on the moon?

private industry will probably do it better and cheaper then NASA can....but of course that means maximizing profit and you know how that seems to go now daysNeverMore wrote:

That's all Columbus was doing and look how that turned out. I just read that SpaceX won't be doing any manned flights til probably 2015 or 2016. They want a proven track record first. My money is actually on Cameron and his cronies to start making this thing profitable. The next gold rush just may be in space.
