Clearly, I'm rather fond of Scarecrows. But some of the worst dreck I've ever seen are scarecrow movies. I caught this one called "Scarecrows Gone Wild" about killer scarecrows on spring break. And I wasn't even aware they did spring break. I also remember this one, the title escapes me, but the plot was this group of criminals were hiding out on this deserted farm after a big heist and are being picked of by a killer scarecrow. They begin blaming each other since nobody actually sees the scarecrow. Truly awful stuff.
But probably one of the worst horror movies I've seen was "Tomb of the Werewolf". This was god-awful; bad acting, bad writing, bad makeup, hideous story. My friend and I started counting gratuitous <deleted> scenes and after there were too many we started counting gratuitous lesbian <deleted> scenes. It took a hard left into soft-core porn pretty quick, and with no warning. And when the werewolf attacked men he would tear out their throats. When the werewolf attacked women, he'd rip their shirts off first (not a single one of them owned a bra) then tear out their throats. The movies setting was supposed to be contemporary movie, following a crew doing a realty tv show somewhere in the UK, but every single non American extra was dressed in quasi-medieval clothing, as though they'd just come from a Ren-Faire. Lord, it was just bad.
As for SY-Fy, their original series aren't to bad (I kinda liked their adaptation of The Dresden Files) but their movies are bad. I have friends who still talk about a film they watched called "Mega Python Vs. Gatoroid". Sy-Fy original, all the way.
