Tonight is my last day of work for 2011. I'm on Christmas Vacation until Jan 3, 2012, but I do have to drop off my Christmas PResents for my nieces and nephews at my brothers house after work tonight. For that reason, I'll probably just pick up a Burger King 'Double Stacker', bring it home, and eat it at my kitchen table in front of the lit Advent Wreath.

I uncovered the grill and threw my meat around.
Made a nice Southern cooked feast. Three sirloins marinated in my super secret marinade (it has whiskey in it), eight pork fillets wrapped in bacon and coated in spices, mashed potatuhs with chili powder and garlic, and some grilled Texas toast.
I'm getting hungry again.

I stopped at the Souplantation and grabbed a huge Caesar salad to go. Got plenty left if anyone wants some. I put pickles on it. I like pickles.

I'm not sure what we're having tonight, but last night my husband made "hamburger soup," and it was delicious. One pound ground meat, crumbled and browned; one whole onion, diced; two garlic cloves, diced; two cans of green beans, two cans of diced Italian tomatoes, and one can of corn, all undrained; two tablespoons of pickle relish; two cups of water; and two cubes of beef bouillon. We couldn't stop eating it! And we had grilled cheese sandwiches on the side.

I made Bacon & Beans for New Years Day dinner, and I have tons of that left over, but tonight I am going to have one of my last two servings of Spegheti and Meat Sauce left over from my Tree Trimming Party. I like to freez what I cook into individual portions. That way I don't waste food. I did the same with my Bacon and Beans. Tonight, it will be the spetheti. Tomorrow and Saturday it will be the beans again. Then the very last Spegheti dinner I'll have for Sunday dinner. Next Sunday is the day the Catholic Church actualy celebrates the Feast of the Epiphany. So that will be my final "last hurah" to the Christmas season.

And I still have about 7 more servings of the Bacon and Beans left. When that runs out, I am debating whether I should make up a batch of Beef-a'roni (Ground beef mixed with Maceroni & Chese) or slow cooked Potroast, Carroots and Onions. P, C, and O, makes a great Winter meal.

Oooh, I love a slow-cooked pot roast with the veges. I always use onions, carrots, celery, and potatoes around mine.

No thanks NeverMore!! I love pickles too, but not in my salad, silly boy!!

Castle, that sounds yummy!!

Murf, I've never heard of hamburger soup, I'm not a big soup person, but I do like potato soup tho....

As for Mike's Beef-a'roni, I like it just plain!!

I hadn't heard of it by that name either until recently. Basically it is a vegetable soup, but made with hamburger meat, which you have crumbled and browned as the first step. My mother would have made this soup with stew meat.

Murf, that sounds like Irish Stew. When I do Irish Stew, I add in cellary, potatos, carroots, onions and peas. I either dice up a pot roast, or I use beef for stew. I leave the skin on the potatoes, too.

Witchy, I am probably the only one who mixes hamburger in with Maceroni and Chese, but I love it just the same. During the Lentin season, I'll just have the Macerona and Chese plain, and maybe a couple of fish sticks on the side.
