I did, although the reviews (which I looked up after the fact) were mixed. It is very atmospheric, which I like, and I also like the medieval period. It is not a kid-oriented film, though. Very dark. Essentially, nobody wins.

That's enough for me! I don't care if it's kid-oriented. Whenever the niece is around, I just switch whatever darkness I'm watching off and put Hocus Pocus in

I have a morbid fascination with that period of history anyway. I read a book several years back about "The Great Mortality," which is what the Black Death was actually called while it was going on. I cannot shake my fascination with that particular era.

I'm the same way. I also have a morbid facination with diseases and viruses. If I had the brain for it, I would have been a virologist.

I've heard of this one too. I might give it a go then if I can find it.

I like Sean Bean too, he's a fantastic actor!

Yes, he plays Luis Cyphre, but to say who that is would give away a lot about the movie. Mickey Rourke plays Harry Angel, a detective hired by Cyphre to locate a singer, Johnny Favorite. It also feature Lisa Bonet in the role that got her thrown off the Cosby Show. Defenitely not one for the kids, but I think it's a great movie.

Have you ever seen In The Company of Wolves? It's not what I would call a traditional horror movie. It plays a lot more like a fairy tale or fable. The atmosphere is wonderful and I really enjoyed it. The ending feels a little out of place, but after I Googled the movie and read some of the interpretations it made a bit more sense. I recommend it, particularly if you're looking for something of the beaten path. I really liked the line, "I never knew wolves could cry."
