The only photos I have of Brindle are not digital. I'll have to search to find them.

Honestly, I never expected to use actual photos. I just found stencils of cats, which are plentiful at Halloween. There are fewer images of dogs, and none that look like Brindle, who was a mutt. The vet speculated that she was a blue healer/ spaniel mix.

We also kept a goldfish we were very fond of. Someday I want to make one for him.

Blue healers are my favorite dog breed!

I'm convinced that one could win on Jeopardy.

I'd never even heard of them before we got Brindle, but her body and coloring reflected that breed. Her face was more like a spaniel's. She was a very high energy dog and lived to be over fourteen years old.

This is Wilee, a dog of uncommon intelligence.

He is unflinching in the face of adversity, a quick and accurate judge of character and a loving and caring pal.

My sister-in-law's son rescued him from an abusive home when he was a puppy.

I don't say this about many people, let alone pets, but I feel honored to know him.

Awww he looks like a very sweet dog. And this is coming from a cat person.

Kudos on your sister in law's son for rescuing him. I'm a big advocate for rescue animals of all kinds. :)

Aww, yes, he looks like a blue heeler. They are very smart dogs. I'm glad he found a loving home.

Mau he loves cats and is persistent in making them love him back, to the point where he will risk getting swatted to that end.

Murf. Yes he is a blue. He had been kept in a cage except to train to be a bird dog.

He is a big goof and loves everyone.

The thing with cats is that they have to be approached on their own terms and take time to trust you. I don't know if you can communicate that with the boundless energy and eagerness of a dog.
However, I think if you raise them from a puppy and kitten, they can become best friends.

I've heard tell of dogs and cats that get along fine. I do think they have to be in the same family, though. Most cats have an instinct to run, and most dogs have an instinct to chase.
