Have you tried sea salt?

Way less sodium but tons of salty flavor.

I use a grinder that you can buy at any self-respecting grocery store.

If you try it and don't like it, I will eat my hat.

I use sea salt, and it's great. My blood pressure has always been high. Even when I was in great shape, ran, worked out and kept my weight at a good level; my blood pressure has been high. So now at my age, I'm still not in bad shape and am not that much heavier than when I was 35. But I still have my doctor acting like Doctor Moreau.

I've always been in shape.

Round is a shape.

Regarding food; I'm having to get creative now that I am back in the great Pacific Northwest.

Down the street there is a strip-mall donut shop that also serves Thai food.

I couldn't make that up.

They have a teriyaki beef that made me weep it was so good.

Either that or I've been away from California so long now that I'm deceiving myself that it really is that good, as a kind of self defense mechanism.

I watch Guy Fieri on the Food Network, he has a show called Diners, Drive ins and Dives. If I could have his job I wouldn't complain about being overweight, because he visits some awesome places that serve awesome grub.

Plus Guy isn't pretentious like that goober, Anthony Bourdain.

An appetizer...sort of.

I bought whisper-thin wafers (sadly, I cannot bake) and made a spread for them of 3 parts cream cheese, 1 part Danish bleu cheese, a sprinkle of mixed, cracked pepper corns and a pinch of mild paprika with a twist of sel de mer mixed in.

Nothing fancy.

I love all cheeses.

Also; I went to a great used book store on the U of O campus and picked up an English translation of 'Larousse Gastronomique', one of the books that inspired Julia Child to write her first cookbook.

It's choc full of culinary history and interesting meal ideas.

Oh, I didn't think to use curry on my Easter eggs! I'll have to try that. My husband loves deviled eggs, and he loves curry.

I guess we had a pretty standard Easter dinner--baked ham, asparagus with hollondaise, and baked potatoes. We had Easter candy for dessert. The deviled eggs I did as a late afternoon snack.

A simple bowl of cottage cheese with pineapple chunks.

Because I had leftover pineapple from the pork loin I put in the slow cooker with mojo criollo sauce and a blend of Moroccan spices, to simmer all night for pulled pork sliders tomorrow.

It's my first potluck at the new company and I want to kill it!

It did, indeed.

People stole samples of it all morning, and I brought home an empty crock pot. :)

Instead of wasting the marinade I poured it into a pan, added to it a little orange juice and heavy cream, then cooked it down and mixed it back into the shredded pork

Those people didn't know what hit them.

Just so that they don't get spoiled, I plan on bringing spray cheez and Ritz crackers the time.

Lol!

I haven't eaten anything yet today, but I just put a pot roast on so we'll have something to eat after church. Pretty basic-- Chuck roast surrounded by potatoes and onions. I seasoned it with onion soup mix and mushroom soup. I think we'll eat it with a salad, or maybe just carrots on the side.

My boyfriend just got me a brand new stainless steel 5 burner grill, and I got myself a deep fryer. So tonight we decided to try them out, and I got some pork chops with pineapple teriyaki marinade and fried up some steak fries.
That was one awesome supper! Grillin' season has officially begun! :D
