Let The Right One In (2008)

Post by iHaunt » Wed Sep 09, 2009 3:33 pm

Holy s##t! 48 Award Wins and 11 Nominations!!

That has to be the most I've seen on IMDB before.

Anyone seen this before? I haven't seen it yet, but from what I've read I'm not sure if it's actually a horror? I mean, people keep placing f##king "Twilight" in the horror section and I disagree with it completely. It should be just in syfy/supernatural section.

Anyway, I already added that movie to my Netflix queue. ;)

When they say this is the "best vampire movie ever", it's not an exaggeration. You should all see this movie. It's Swedish but the dialogue is overdubbed in English, so no subtitles. The end/climax at the swimming pool is one of the best scenes I've seen ever. Go see this movie :)

Oh and yes it's horror. Just not in the conventional sense...

I'll take your recommendation. I'm about to watch it. It's watchable online with Netflix.

Darn! It's not dubbed. I hate reading captions!

Well, I'm still waiting to get that DVD from the mail from Netflix.

Anyway, I heard it was a great movie, and I despair over the American remake.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Ok, I read on someone's else post that she bought this DVD, and on the back cover it says: "BEST VAMPIRE MOVIE EVER".

Well, I really can't post any more reviews or comments until I see this movie myself first. :D

Not the best vampire movie ever?? If that's not the best, then why?

That's like asking why peanut butter cups aren't the best candy ever. Personal tastes. I've seen the whole 'vampire trying to live amongst humans' thing done to death lately. I'm a traditionalist. Give me the vampire that stalks the night using the city as their feeding ground, à la 'Thirty Days of Night'. I was intrigued by the idea of a little girl trying to live an eternal life but that also was done in 'Interview with a Vampire'. The ending was good but I was totally expecting it. All that notwithstanding, it was still a good movie.
