Again, October begins this Thursday, and all of the best horror releases have come and gone. I guess it's going to be me and my DVD player again. There's NOT ONE horror release slated for this October that I know of. What a bummer.

Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

Poltergeist will not come out until 2010.

Anyway, I would love to see "Zombieland" and "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant". Well, not so sure about "Twilight New Moon" but I'll see if I learn little more about it before going see it. :D And I really do care less about SAW 6 because I know it will make me so dried! :roll:

If the next "Twilight" is anything like the original, I wouldn't want to see it if they paid me the admission. That movie was no horror flick at all. It was more of a romance story that involved a very UN TRADITIONAL vampire. I was hoping to see a real honest to goodness horror flick released in October, glorified romance stories or comedies. I have nothing against those types of movies, mind you, but I would like to see Hollywood observe TRADITION a little better when it comes to horror movies.

Not only did it lack horror action, but it was a total departure from vampire lor that I love. Call me a 'stick in the mud,' but vampires are supposed to sleep in coffins by day, roam the woods by night seeking out human prey. They do NOT play Baseball, cook Italian food or live in modernistic fantasy houses like they did in "Twilight." Again, it's time for Hollywood to be reintroduced to the concept of good old fashioned TRADITION! TRADITION in regards to the story and the lor, and a nice TRADITIONAL horror release of a good classic scary movie in October would also be appreciated.

I imagine that "Twilight" will have it's fan base, but I thought the whole thing was hokey. Again, I know I must sound like I'm old enough to be someone's great, great, great, grandfather, but I love TRADITION, and am not overly fond of departures from it. That's not to say that I live in a cave, but there are some TRADITIONS that I love, and I wish Hollywood would be considerate to people like me.

Twilight was a romance story and New Moon will be even worse. I knew what I was getting into with that one because my wife had read the books and seen the movie once already........I think these movies (being written by a woman) mostly caters to women and young romantic feelings in girls........:(

Please don't get me wrong. I have nothing against people who enjoy those kind of films. "Dark Shadows," which is my all time favorite tv show and horror story, is full of romance, and is very appealing wo women and girls sense of romance. Yet, "Dark Shadows" was a very typical TRADITIONAL Halloween type story about vampires, wearwolves, ghosts, witches, haunted houses, dopplgangers, and what have you. Stories like "Twilight" are a total departure from what I think of as a vampire. Count Dracula did not cook Italian food. And I never saw an episode of "Dark Shadows" that featured Barnabass Collins at home plate, bat in hands, knocking the ball right into the next county. TRADITION! That's what it's all about for this horror fan. TRADITION! Nothing less will do.
