i have an 18 month old baby boy. we went to SAMs a while back, and he is scared of anything halloween. Even those blow up yard ones. I guess he won't be heading out into the front yard to much come october. I'm wondering if there is something I can do to make him not so scared. any suggestions?

Show him some Halloween things you have. When he gets scared let him know it is not real nothings gonna hurt him. And then do anything comforting for him to give him the courage to go near the Halloween decorations and touch them.

Disney has tons of videos and CDs for Halloween. Some are traditional that we had as kids and some are new. My kids are 17,11 & 9 and they still love them. Disney World also has a Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. We went 2 years ago and it is GREAT!!! The Headless Horseman rides down Main Street.

You could always get some cutesy halloween things...like plush black kitties, little teddy bears dressed up in costumes...things like scarecrows are usually pretty cutesy too...and those pumpkin bags you stick leaves in...emphasize the fun side of halloween rather than the scary side...sure scary is fun but for little kids they may not get it yet. Harvest decor is usually pretty non-scary as well...like pumpkins and leaves...
I would just avoid the super scary decor, watch the cartoony stuff, until he's older and/or gets adjusted to it...even if it means leaving out your favorite decorations. :p

we went to target yest. they have started putting up some of the perishable halloween stuff. they also put up a bunch of halloween movies. and in them was a mickey mouse club house dvd. my baby is obsessed with them so we bought it ( for 15$....ouch) but he's watching it and not freaking out.. woohoo!!!! we also bought an old mickey mouse and friends movie from the early 80's and transfered it over to dvd. I'll have him decorating in no time
