Re: The best Christmas episodes and tv specials

I came across this online and didn't know where else to put it. I'm not sure if it's a painting or a digital image, but it certainly is a unique perspective on jolly old St. Nick and ... uh, Mrs. Claus?

Re: Catching up

I think that any decent person that kills another human, regardless of the reason, would have it weigh on their conscience, like your father did.

I haven't ever killed my dinner, but I would if I had to, like in a post apocalyptic scenario. If that happens then I guess that we better get used to ...

Re: The best Christmas episodes and tv specials

There are channels on youtube that stream Christmas music 24/7, some of them don't even have ads, they play every type of music like instrumental, classics, modern, and any other type of Christmas music that you like.

Re: Catching up

In the end we will all answer for our actions in this life, especially the evil people that do unimaginable horrors to others.

I consider myself a good person, but as they say, everybody views themselves and their actions as good, regardless of how they actually conduct themselves, or how others ...

Re: The best Christmas episodes and tv specials

It's possible they were reruns, but they were most likely on reels, I don't recall because I was so young at the time, I know that I was older than 2 but it was before 3 years old. I can clearly remember my mother telling me who he was and that she used to watch him when she was young, and I know ...

Re: Catching up

The world was a very different place back then, maybe it's possible they were legitimately worried that the leftovers could make people sick, or maybe there was so much food that they didn't care if they threw it out, because your average person was well fed in those days. Most regular people aren't ...

Re: The best Christmas episodes and tv specials

I've had trouble a few times lately, too. I'll be typing and posting just fine, then suddenly it will tell me that I'm "forbidden."

I guess i'm lucky because the only time I get the 'forbidden' notice is when I finish a post and hit submit.

At least I know that I'm not the only one that's ...

Re: Catching up

Thanks Murf!

Believe me, I had no intention of telling anybody outside of my family, as it's none of their business. I mean, I can tell you guys because I'm just a product of your overactive imagination. But I was speaking about my immediate family. I know that as much as I'd like to tell my ...

Re: The best Christmas episodes and tv specials

I'll get back to this tomorrow when the forum isn't signing me out every 5 minutes.

By the way, if it says that I'm still online, I'm not. ---------->

The forum was glitching again and it signed me out while I was typing, so I signed in again and it's still signing me out, but it still says that ...

Re: Christmas Trees - fake or real?

I have only ever seen a candlelit tree once in my life when I was a kid, and it was beautiful. I remember it was at a Christmas pageant at city hall, our class was there to sing for the event. The only other place that I've seen candlelit trees is in movies.

I know that they make fake trees that ...

Re: Catching up

I think the names on a family tree mean a lot more when people know something about the ones who bore those names.

You're absolutely right about that.

The way that I've been physically documenting my family history, both on paper and digitally, is by having notations beside each name that ...

The best Christmas episodes and tv specials

Well, since we already have a thread for Christmas movies, I thought that I would start a thread to discuss your favorite Christmas episodes of sitcoms, and tv specials. Full disclosure, while I do watch modern shows that have Christmas episodes, they just don't compare to the classics that I grew ...

Re: Christmas Trees - fake or real?

Thanks for the tips and information, Murf!

I was talking to my wife again last night, and we decided that we're going to get a real tree for the kids. I was actually wondering how the tree would remain vertical, like I said, I have no experience with real trees, but I did assume that it would ...

Re: Catching up

Yes, many families live with painful secrets behind closed doors that the rest of the world is unaware of, but they put a smile on their face when they go outside, and they continue their lives, rarely, if ever, speaking of that pain.

Murf, you mentioned how your father's death affected your ...

Christmas Trees - fake or real?

When it comes to Christmas trees, which do you prefer, fake plastic trees, and no, I'm not talking about the old Radiohead song, but synthetic trees, or do you prefer a real tree?

My mother and most of my older relatives always had a real tree when they were growing up, but when I was a kid we ...
