If it's SOUNDS you want...the BBC library has all SORTS of cool cool sounds on ONE disc..it sometimes turns up in lp form for peanuts on ebay...and it might be worth it to dust off that turntable and start to sample...very good stuff..

I have gotten some of my best sound effects CD's (with moaning, screaming, horrible laughing, etc) from the local WalMart in the Halloween aisle. Every year we put a Halloween message on our answering machine complete with Count Dracula voice (my husband) and scary noises. People call our house and when we answer, they say,"no don't answer, I want to hear the tape!"

I had this really scary one as a kid. It scared my brother and I so bad that we would start crying if my mom started playing it. It was the sounds of something very large stomping down a hallway and a heartbeat pulsing every other step.
