New HallowFreak on the block

Post by ZombieChipmunk » Thu May 25, 2006 11:34 pm

Hey there. I just wanted to send my hallos to everybody. I'm ZombieChipmunk. I'm moderately obssessed with the best day of the year. I start planning for it in June, and I'm all psyched up by October 1st. It's a little shop of horrors in my head from then until Christmas.

Yeah. Me too. Just curious... did you ever see the Ray Bradbury animated Halloween special called "The Halloween Tree"? It was based on his book of the same title and he did the voiceover narration for it. That creeped me out when I was 6 or 7 when I first watched it. It hasn't been on TV since. I can't find it anywhere. It really was a gem among kids Halloween specials... Has anyone else seen this?

No I don't remember it, I am sure it will be put out on DVD soon (if it isn't already out).

Amazon has The Halloween Tree ( in VHS format from some sellers, but couldn't find the DVD.

I didn't know Leonard Nimoy (aka Spock) did the voice of Death on it.

I never saw that I don't think. I'll have to drive to my parents house and go through their collection and see if they have it. I'm always up for some good Halloween entertainment.

The book is, as usual, better than the movie. I remember it creeping me out when I was a teenager.

yeah the books are always better than the movie. I've yet to see otherwise...I see at deep discount dvd, they have it for pretty cheap. I may buy it, it's only a couple of bucks.

Well, if you want to pick up a really good kid's Halloween book you can pick up a copy of The Halloween Tree on Amazon for $1.99 plus shipping.

Now I have to order a copy for myself! It has been years since I read it!
