Maw Maw's cranberry salad

Postby MHooch » Mon Nov 13, 2006 10:26 pm

This is the best stuff I ever tasted, my mother-in-law's recipe. Can't have Thanksgiving without it!

1 Lb cranberries (12 oz pkg will do)

2 C applesauce

2 C crushed pineapple

2 C sugar

2 sm box cherry jello

wash berries, cover with water and cook until soft, then drain. Dissolve jello in 2 C boiling water. Add cranberries, applesauce, pineapple and sugar. Refrigerate. Stir once it starts to gel. Store in fridge.

(I add a handful of chopped walnuts to ours, it tastes great, but Uncle Kevie doesn't like nuts, so the one we serve at the main dinner is nut free!)

Hooch-that is one I might be trying, yum.

I can't believe it...we call my mom - Maw Maw, spelled the same and everything...that's what my son has called her from day 1, so we do too.
