Hey all. I don't know how many of you are familiar with the book/television show Band Of Brothers. For those who are not, both are about the experiences of Easy Company of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment who fought in World War Two.
On their website for Christmas last year was posted an audio file of a poem called 'A Soldier's Silent Night', "recorded by Father Ted Berndt and his daughter Ellen Stout. Father Berndt was a priest at Bread of Life Charismatic Episcopal Church in Dousman, Wisconsin, a proud Marine, and a WWII Purple Heart recipient." I must admit I forgot about it till today but with just over a day left till Christmas I thought I'd post the link here. http://www.menofeasycompany.com/home/index.php?page_id=121
Its a beautiful poem and with so many soldiers all over the world this Christmas is as pertinent as ever. Regardless of our opinion on war I think its important we keep them in our thoughts this time of year.
Books, poems, stories and other tales!
