Green Bean Casserole Poll!

Postby GreenElf on Fri Nov 10, 2006 8:48 am

Heres your poll Snow-Flake.... If it is the casserole salade I am thinking of (cold green bean salade) then I am a big no. I love veggies but that dish just doesn't work for me. :(

Isn't green bean casserole the hot casserole that's got like mushroom soup added to it?

I wouldn't say that I HATE it, but I pretty much only eat it to get something green on my plate. hah hah.

The Green bean Casserole, is the recipe on the French Fried Onion container. It's got cream of mushroom soup in it, and green beans, and the onions on top, and it is nasty stuff...It looks like someone threw up in a bowl. It doesn't even taste good, I can't understand why they made it be this #1 dish people bring...it's in commercials and in magazines.

Bluck.

I make a Broccoli Rice Casserole that is really good...it has has onions, and cheddar cheese soup and cream of mushroom soup in it, and it is really good...I think it's a way better side dish than the green beans.

I actually like green beans, by themselves...just not in this combo.

Thanks GreenElf, for the Poll. :D

The first time I cooked for my extended in-laws I was trying to impress them and made fancy green beans with bacon, onions and almond slivers.

Big Mistake. They asked where the green bean casserole was. Now whenever we have them in the menu is set: ham or turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy, dressing, GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE, scalloped corn, rolls, and 7-layer salad; aka, their comfort foods.

I made it for the first time earlier this year, not for a holiday or anything though and I loved the stuff. I also love almost any kind of veggies though so that helped.
