Oh, yeah, those are such sweet lyrics, Pete :D ..I think I've only heard Willie's version of it- I didn't realize there were so many covers.

Okay, I know Santa Baby's very busy filling Christmas orders right now, and really I shouldn't even be requesting a new contribution to this thread if I don't feel confident enough to add one myself, but here I am doing it because I miss it :? - is there anyone who would like to share a new poem with us? Maybe inspiration will hit you soon, CK? Snow Faery? Pete? :D

Jack, where are YOU???

poem

Post by Santa Baby » Wed Nov 28, 2007 1:32 am

It is the wee hours in the morning and I am sure tomorrow when I read this it will not make sense but How can I refuse Silver Belle....well back to work its an all nighter tonight

Whispering winds

from the mountain blow

your chilling breath

down below

and give me weather

thats cold and crisp

full of snow

on a night like this

A night for sweet music

for loving and sharing

giving and living

all of us caring

Remembering fondly

family and friends

the true meaning

of the spirit

I hope it never ends

the holiday scene at last is set

with snow all fluffy and light

gracefully coating all

in a blanket of snowy white

Joy in my heart

my soul fills with cheer

my whole being celebrates

Christmas is here
I've been an awful good girl,

Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

Oh THANK YOU, Santa Baby!!! I'm trying not to react too loudly with glee as the kids are still sleeping and I wish to enjoy my coffee in peace  , but that was such a treat!! :D It may be nearly impossible for us to experience a white Christmas in Georgia anymore, but y'all are keeping the joy and spirit of one alive in my heart. :D

CHRISTMAS

The whole world is a Christmas tree

And stars it's many candles be

O sing a carol joyfully

The world's greatest feast in keeping

For once on a December night

An angel held a candle bright

And led three wisemsn by it's light

To where a child was sleeping

"Her Tree"

Post by Aputernut » Mon Dec 16, 2013 10:57 am

“Her Tree”

I trim her tree, she will not see
Perfection like hers is not to be
Through tears, I try to see her dream
Of how it should look
Oh how I wish I’d have a book

In my hand is one perfect flocked red rose
She called the Christmas rose
And it always held a prominent place on our tree
Where is that place to be, on the tree she will not see

She left me this year; I’m on my own,
The reflection of lights on the tree
In her eyes will not be shown
She’s in my heart; I hope to make her proud
And do my best on this tree she will not see

Life alone now is hard and lonely
She made everything special
Winter and snow had a special glow

I look at the lights tonight
They shine not as bright
As they did one short year before
On this tree she will not see

We were to grow old together
We did in fact as I look down
I see my shaky wrinkled hand
That once held her own, pick up the angel
To place on top of her tree she will not see

Written by me..

Thank you everyone for sharing such beautiful poems. Just reading them over and over gives me that warm feeling.

The Christmas I Thought I Was Alone: (A True Story)

December 25th had arrived here at last,
in a new city for me and far from my past.
No one I knew lived in this town,
and I did not have time to make neighborhood rounds.

The place where I lived was cozy and nice,
the tree was lit up, covered in magical ice.
I ate very slowly as my eyes spanned the room,
with thoughts of good cheer to chase out the gloom.

There were a few gifts set under the tree,
from family and friends far away from me.
As I sat on the floor to finish the day,
I felt something stirring in an unusual way.

I had the rare feeling of being all alone,
"No one is around", I thought with a moan.
Not opening a gift I hung my head down,
it's just not the same with no Christmas sounds.

Suddenly a music box started to play,
the song "Silent Night" drifted my way.
Then a voice from within filled me with cheer,
I was there with you then and I'm with you right here.

I had many days since that magical night,
no matter the problems things will turn out right.
It is no different today as it was way back when,
as a baby was born to bring peace to all men.

Merry Christmas!!!
"Maybe Christmas he thought doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more".
