Twas the night before Christmas

Hi,

Anyone have any favorite editions or illustrators of Twas the Night Before Christmas/A Visit from St. Nicholas?



I have a few, but will wait to share them.

I don't know if I have a favorite. I'd sure like to find the ones I had as a child but don't remember what they are. I love to go go the bookstore at Christmas time and look at the really lavishly illustrated books of The Night Before Christmas and A Christmas Carol. I love Christmas books!!!!!

Mine was put out by the guy who did MAD magazine...Bill Gaines.

He got Bill Elder to illustrate it...used the whole poem..

Now, if you've read the classic versions of MAD, you know Elder would put a million sight gags in each panel, and this was the same..

it was in PANIC and can be found in a recent Elder collection

I have the 1975 version of the poem illustrated by Douglas Gorsline and published by Random House. It came with an audio cassette tape which included the "ding" to indicate when to turn the page.
