My teenaged son runs from clowns. I don't get it...never was afraid of them myself. In fact, I proudly wore an Emmitt Kelly sweatshirt in the 5th grade! I have the IT movie and have to admit THAT clown is creepy!
Don't drink and fly...

I found this post has lots of replies, so I am putting this up to the sticky bulletin board and hopefully you will enjoy chatting about ugly clowns!

BTW, this is my second-door neighbor in this pic below! He is really funny guy, also he loves to create different types of clown masks and costumes, too!

I don't see why everyone is afraid of clowns. Personally, I'm terrified of centipedes.

This thread inspired to write a little peice. I'm not too proud of it, but I'll show you all anyway!

As I sit in the seat,
A clown prepares to trample me with his cleat
Not wanting to suffer defeat I run away

These are the Clowns
They’re after you and me
They’ve got lots of publicity
They’re on TV

I get in a car and begin to drive,
This could be a problem considering
I’m only five!
As I speed down the road I run over a toad,
But I then see a guy in front of me!

These are the Clowns
They’re after you and me
They’ve got lots of publicity
They’re on TV

I hit the brake, seeing a life is at steak
But then I realize I should not of backed down
This is a clown!
With a fist in the windshield
And a hand around my neck
I bite a pinky
And his hand gets all inky

These are the Clowns
They’re after you and me
They’ve got lots of publicity
They’re on TV

Going at full throttle
Clown starts to doddle
Fly’s out the windshield from whence it came
But suddenly I see a gargantuan flame
Elephants, running left and right what a night!

Their feet, about to trample me
Oh the calamity
But I end up driving,
Right under them
But then I see
My car just got stained with elephant pee

These are the Clowns
They’re after you and me
They’ve got lots of publicity
They’re on TV

When I make it home,
I find my family
Tied up and hanging from the chimney
I call 911, oh what fun!
But then I see a Clown and he’s got a gun!

These are the Clowns
They’re after you and me
They’ve got lots of publicity
They’re on TV

As I duck for cover
He begins to fire
Bullets flying, hamster frying, Clowns lying
People dieing!

These are the Clowns
They’re after you and me
They’ve got lots of publicity
They’re on TV

Must be a lot of people scared of clowns. They even have a name for t - Caulrophobia.

Not sure, but I think I heard somewhere that the purple one himself, Prince, suffers from this. There was a story about him refusing to be somewhere because of Ronald McDonald was there.

Personally, even a super-sized Ronald McDonald wouldn't scare me, yet for years a tiny spider did. Over that now though, but phobias can be a funny thing.
