Let's discuss ideas and tips for decorating for Christmas

Christmas trees of all colors

I've begun to notice at Walmart, and other places, that there are other tree varieties out there besides your standard green. Now, I've always been fond of those white trees and wouldn't mind having one someday, I really think they're pretty and they remind me of the snow outside and the wintery feeling you get. White trees have been around for a long time.
Now however, they've got other colors out there, purple, blue, red just to name a few. Even black (if you want to go for something more Halloween-esque that's probably what I would use a black tree for)
I think I'd like a colored tree just because I like being different. What do you guys think? Do you like all the new brilliant colors they're coming out with, or would you rather just stick with the traditional green?
Look out Rudolph, Santa might just replace you with the cute, magical, Christmas Kittens!

I actually like all the different color trees. I used to not really be that big into them but once I saw them decorated I realized how wrong I was!

I myself got a black tree, Mau. It looks beautiful with the ornaments, etc on it. It's only 2 feet tall but I think it is cute :) Here is a picture of it: http://holidaytrees.blogspot.com/2009/1 ... t-all.html

I have a bunch of Christmas trees on there if you want to take a look at what you might like. Also if you like I can send you pictures of specific colored trees that are decorated so that you can get an idea of what you like :mrgreen:

Hello
If you love a traditional, old-world Christmas, you probably won't think much about a color scheme for your Christmas decorations. You'll gather together everything with sentimental value in any color, and find just the right place for it and your home and tree will be lovely.

But if you're just starting out or want your decorations to compliment your home's decor, you'll find that all your Christmas decorating decisions will be easier if you start out with a specific color scheme.

There are a number of ways you can determine or choose a color scheme you want to follow with your Christmas decorations. They include:

* Your Home's Color Scheme
Focus on the colors you have in your home year 'round and select complimentary colors that bring out the seasonal feeling. Here are more ways you can find colors for a Christmas color scheme.

* Colors from Your Childhood Christmases
If you have particularly happy memories from Christmas past, try to choose a color theme to enhance that memory. If you loved all the candy canes, choose a red and white color scheme. Did your tree have shiny silver tinsel laid over the boughs? Maybe you'd like a silver glittery color scheme. How about the bubble lights from the 50's and 60's? Choose a color scheme that brings all those colors to mind.

Last year, My mom went crazy on christmas tree haha. She bought pink christmas tree and it was something. I must admit, with the decors and stuffs in it, it looks pretty though but who does that? lol.

If I have my own house already, I will definitely go for traditional ones. A big traditional christmas tree, well probably some themes will do but it must be green.
