White lights/multicolored lights

We use both on our tree too! I think it looks just fine. We always use multi on the outside.

I don't like multi but I do like color. We always have clear but have at least one color with it, like last year on our tree we had gold with the clear. And on our outside tree with usually always have green, red and clear.

Mostly we use Colored lights on the main tree and for outside of the house but we have tried White lights a couple times they look great with pine garland and burgundy bows~

Like squarejelly up there, we usually have white with one color on our tree too....some years we go multi, but I don't think we have for the last few seasons at least. And we always have just white lights on the front porch and hedges out front.

I went to Wal Mart. (I like to call it "Wally World",) and they had either the fiber optic lights OR the pre-lit trees. I didn't see much in the way of "regular" trees. I'm looking for a tree that's like 6 ft. tall, (about 2 meters,) but isn't wide at the bottom.



Wally World had 6 ft. trees, but they were pretty wide at the bottom. Since I'm in a small apartment, I can't give it that kind of space. But I did find an assorment of different shapes, sizes of colored chrome-like ornements. If I get a 6 footer, I might need two boxes of the ornaments to fill the tree properly. Pre-lit or not.



But I do like the idea that I wouldn't have to buy strings of lights this year. But I'll have to check out the wattage of the bulbs that I need to replace them as they burn out.



Does the forum have a topic of the new things we buy for the holidays? At the Halloween.com forum, we took pictures of our "New Additions" for Halloween. I wonder if we do the same thing here?

We've been sticking to white lights over the past few years, but I love the multi as well.

We have a set of white and a set of multicolored we switch every other year for outside, but we've always used multicolored for the tree. We bought the LED lights last year and they're so much brighter and prettier on the tree!

which is more energy conservant white or multi coloured lights?

I imagine that if the bulbs are of the same type then they will be essentially equal. For example, incandescent bulbs will be almost the same whether white or colored. Fluorescent the same. LED the same. I think that LED will be the most efficient, followed by fluorescent, followed by incandescent.
