How do you prepare for Christmas in the Summer?

So we're past the halfway point to Christmas 2011 and the days are starting to get shorter. Is there anything anyone is doing now to get ready for Christmas? Today I asked my wife who we might invite over for Christmas dinner and she looked at me like I was nuts. I got to thinking about Christmas while looking for something in a closet and found it near the decorations. That led me to looking for some Christmas recipes on-line, etc. etc. Here in Minnesota we will start cooling down a bit by late August, so it wont be long before this is on the mind of many more. I was just thinking to use something new and different style of decorations.Can you please give me some ideas.I am also searching on internet regarding Christmas decorations.
