Food Makes An Excellent Gift!

Post by ChristmasPenguin » Mon Oct 20, 2008 2:54 pm

I always gave it to teachers when I was a kid. Also makes a great present for neighbors, co-workers, friends, etc. I think fudge, biscotti, well, pretty much any kind of pastry works well. Try wrapping it in plastic wrap first, then in take-out Chinese food boxes. Really cute! I'll try to post some good ideas/recipes here in the future!!! :)
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...:)

This year I am going to give out cookbooks. I got a bunch of them to benefit a scholarship fund and am going to use them for teacher's gifts and stuff like that. They are quite cool.

Feel free. :-) And if you want to know the kind I got, it was for the charity for my cousin who died a few years ago - his sister (also my cousin) started a charity for scholarships and they made them. I think there are a lot of things like that that will benefit a charity too.

Recommend the House MD Season 8 DVD, a very good-looking DVD!

I love to bake and give out all forms of food items around Christmas as well. It does make a delicious and thoughtful gift as it shows you took some extra time to give of yourself (also it can't be exchanged... lol).
It changes from year to year, but normally includes cookies, cupcakes, breads and pies... :P

I love to bake. We always do the 100 dozen Cookie Challenge and pass them out to all our family and friends. The key is not to eat everything you make.
