Decorations make the paper or a mag?

What do you like to decorate with? That bucket of blood?

Decorations make the paper or a mag?

Post by mandy0221 » Sun Sep 24, 2006 7:57 pm

I have this dream of one day making it in the local paper or a magazine for my Halloween decorations. You know where they do a story on your house and its spectacular lighting, spookiness etc.

Anyone had this dream come true? OR have it for themselves?

My Halloween Table display made it in to the Oct/Nov 2003 issue of Taste of Home magazine.

My house was given an entire page and article in the social section for my open house.

My home is going to be the set of a new Horror movie...how cool is that?? It will be shot in the spring of 2007, and I am actually going to play a role in it. It might even get released theatrically.

Oh my gosh that is soooo exciting. So what horror movie? Or are you even allowed to say?

What made them choose your house....do you have photos of the display they featured?

There is a website and everything set up for the movie, and pictures of my house are on it.

I was choosen, because a friend of mine is also a director and he works for a big studio in Texas, and he told his friend about me, and they liked the looks of it, and the back story of it being haunted, and want to do a documentary on me and my family and the "hauntings.

I don't want to post the link on here because my phone number is listed and my name of my B & B. But, I'll send you a link to the movie website.

Tell me the title isn't totally cool......

But see that's why our holiday is taking over. There will be at some point, a whole mag devoted to people like us. For ideas and whatnot. I for one am anxiously waiting for that.

I've made the local news a few times. Of course I run a full haunted house every year and terrorize the area. LOL I lost the newspaper articles (I had them scanned into the computer) when my computer crashed. I had my name in the paper last year regarding Halloween. I did have that on a disc. Here is the article. I'm mentioned in the first line. Kind of a cool article.

Corpse Bride! (from the article) That's great! My husband and I used the corpse bride as our wedding cake topper.... and I wanted a pumpkin cake, but my MIL (who does pro-cake decorating and made our cake for free) wouldn't let us do pumpkins in July. She did, however, suggest the Corpse Bride as a topper, so I picked something cutesy out instead of pumpkins.

I love that cake topper. It is simple but has a good statement!
