I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making my Halloween feel special. I hosted a party at a friends house over the weekend (instead of my tiny apartment) and it turned out great. I can't think of anything to do tonight though so I am having some withdrawals. I'll probably just watch movies or something. I'm hoping our apartment will have some trick or treaters. What is everyone else going to do tonight?

Halloween is just starting here in the Pacific Northwest and is it COLD! Tonight we will probably have over 100 trick or treaters...last year we had over 160. Our neighborhood is the ideal trick or treating spot.

I decorate the outside with purple and orange lights, made a ghost for the front door (he is cute, more like a Casper), carve Jack-o-Lanterns and place them along the walkway, and I dress up. Going to be a gypsy this year but may have to put on Long John's with the temps dipping so low!

We give out the big candy bars and the children look forward to it. Word has gotten around and parents drive their children to our neighborhood from cities that are quite far from us. It doesn't matter to me as I enjoy it so much.

Last year many adults dressed up with their children and it was fun to see all the creativity. Hope they do it again this year.

Happy Halloween to one and all. Look forward to corresponding with everyone on the Thanksgiving and Christmas boards! Love this time of year....celebrate!

Ah, a fellow Pacific Northwesterner. It is damn cold down here in Humboldt, too. About 42 degress, and expected to get colder tonight. Good thing I'm dressing as the grim reaper with many layers of black fabric.
To answer Sheila's question: I built a cemetery in my yard for the TOTs tonight. Hopefully going to get some this year - I'm going to crank up the volume on the Halloween sound fx, maybe that'll act as a beacon. Afterwards, a bunch of us are heading over to the Coast Guard's annual haunted house. I can't wait. As I've stated in other threads, I WILL be posting all sorts of pics in the next day or two, so please check back (probably under Decorating forums).
Happy Halloween everybody!

Halloween night here in Tennessee. Other than being a bit damp and foggy it's around 58 degrees here. Looks like the next day or so it will get colder but it actually turned out not too bad for TOTing. Haven't done anything special for Halloween this year except go to a local mall to see the little kids in costume and watch their costume contest. They were so cute. Makes me wish my nieces lived closer so I could do things like Halloween with them. Guess I'll just sit here and spend the rest of the evening watching Halloween cartoons and scary movies (oh and checking on my hockey team's score starting at 9pm CST). Hope everyone is having a wonderful Halloween and Samhain night!

Well, it is 11:20 VA time, and the TOT's are done, the lights are turned off, the fog machine is inside, the spooky village is quiet...I must say, with the party Sat night, and the neighborhood kids party tonight, we've had a wonderful Halloween. The weather was gorgeous, sunny and high 60's today, high 50's this eve. Perfect for TOTing. Hope everyone's night was as special as ours....Happy Halloween everybody!!
