Also forgot to mention above...SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS. Made in an aircraft hanger in New Jersey. (Hooch was in such a birth place of culture...) It was released every year on the kiddie matinee circuit when I was growing up and made a bundle of loot..hear the theme song ONCE and I guarantee you will be able to hum it back from beyond the grave.. has Pia Zadora as one of the Martian girls. Jamie Farr as a Martian renegade. The Martians talk like Indians in a John Wayne movie. ("they sleep not...")

S-A-N-T-A C-L-A-U-S Hooray for Santy Claus!! Almost as bad as Small World..OMG, I remember I waited for that EVERY year when I was a kid. That and seeing Santa ride on the Norelco electric shaver. Also Charlie Brown Christmas on CBS with the spinning logo and that sound. Dummdeedeedum! Wow, I feel old now.

Speaking of holiday shillng and ad sharks, the cardboard cut out I have of Santa is from THE THIRTIES and used to be part of a store pipe tobacco display..it went with a chimney..Yup..Santa is holding up a can of the stuff and smiling..someone cut out the product, but besides that, it's in great condition..go on, Madison Ave, TRY and duplicate that NOW..

My favorite Christmas movies are "The Muppet's Christmas Carol" and "White Christmas" I also love all the cartoon specials..so much that I have them all on DVD now :LOL: I have a fairly large collection of Christmas movies that I keep seperated from all the rest of my movie collections...then when I'm having a bad day, or hating the world, I watch a Christmas movie and voila!!! No longer in a major funk

we did NatLamp's CHRISTMAS VACATION last night, with Bob Hope in THE LEMON DROP KID....Vacation was as hilarious as usual, and I still roar when he does that wormed headed buged eyed sack of monkey...." speech...take a listen to the commentary by the stars sometime..they seemed to really enjoy making it, and seeing each other again..

Does anyone remember the Santa Claus movie with Dudley Moore as an elf who runs away and goes to work for the evil John Lithgow? That was a typical 80's film too. It was a big hit when it came out in '85.

The girls are coming over tomorrow for movie night and we're watching The Polar Express....gorgeous.
