The Little Drummer Boy

I cherish Rankin Bass's Little Drummer Boy each year. It captures a sense of peace not many other specials capture. The narrator lady really helps make the special. Living in Phoenix in the desert, The Little Drummer Boy captures a local sense of Christmas more than snow filled specials do.

Along with Charlie Brown it's also one of the very few specials that bothers to mention Christ. My kids do not enjoy it as much as I do but I think, or at least hope, that will come with age. It is a very peaceful show.



The second Little Drummer Boy special was horrible.
