CHRISTMAS POEMS

Postby Christmas Knight on Thu Nov 08, 2007 11:52 pm

Here's an original idea, how about a poem for each day until Christmas...oh wait, I think that's been done already with some other holiday. :wink:

A Christmas Eve in the Country

By Christmas Knight

I stepped outside as the sun began to set,

The cold still air is what my rosie cheeks met;

A peaceful quiet blanketed the barren landscape,

As did a feeling of joy and warmth that no one could escape;

In the distance, soothing sliver church bells did sound,

A symphony of happiness that could rarely be found;

The frozen dew glistened on the wintry spruce,

Clear evidence that Jack Frost was certainly on the loose;

Two beautiful Blue Jays landed simultaneously in their nest,

As if they were planning a evening of cuddling and rest;

A squirrel scurried by, mouth filled with nuts of all sorts,

Chased by his two friends in the spirit of gaming and sports;

A group of deer gracefully passed without an ounce of fear or alarm,

As if there was a divine guarantee that on this night, they'd face no harm;

I looked to the sky in search of that special and magical star,

A feeling of anticipation told me that the arrival of Christmas was not far;

As I stood amidst the Lord's wondrous bounty of nature,

And recited a prayer of hope and thanks for the near and distant future;

And I thought to myself, this was Christmas to me, more than a day or a date,

It was the feeling of love, happiness, and faith that words could not rate.

Merry Christmas, my dear friends.

Very nice, HH...... oh geez, sorry. CK.

You've inspired me. I'm have to get out my old thinking cap and come up with something good.

Nicely done!

Poem

Postby Santa Baby on Fri Nov 09, 2007 1:14 pm

Ok here is my first Christmas Poem its a song really I can picture it being sung sometime in the 40's or 50's I hope you like it.......

Drifting flakes of snow

you will never know

how much you make

me want to say

Merry Christmas

With every little flake

a joy in my heart makes

me want to say

Merry Christmas

drifting, swiriling

silently, whirling

falling through the night

glistening, glowing

softly, blowing

your icy chill

feels just right

I awake to a wonderland

a sugar coating by

god's own hand

What feeling

leaves me reeling

as no other weather

possibly can

Drifting flakes of snow

you will never know

you make me want to say

Merry Christmas

With every little flake

a joy in my heart makes

me want to say

Merry Christmas

so please if you will

pile high on my window sill

when I get my fill

I can then say....

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

On this wonderful

Winters Day
I've been an awful good girl,

Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight.

That's great SB. Did you write the music to go along with it also? If so, what type? Very nice :D

Keep me in your thoughts

Keep me always close

Wind so cold makes it hard to feel

Makes you forget this Christmas Ghost

Pretty tinsel on trees

Soft music and candlelight

Icy window panes are winter's fingerprint

He's reaching for you tonight

But that chill on your neck

The cool breath in your ear

Isn't Old Man Winter's touch

It's this Christmas Ghost drawing near

Mistletoe hovers like snowfall

As lovers glide close beneath

Kisses stolen in shadowed corners

Love encircles them like a wreath

Don't feel lonely tonight

And let this night leave you blue

Remember me and I'll never leave

This Christmas Ghost will always love you

Wow, Jack. That's rather cool. It sounds like you wrote it for someone. Did you write that? Good Job!

Yep, I wrote it. If I were to post something not from me I'd credit it as such.

I just like the idea of Christmas ghosts, but I was thinking of my wife too.

That's really great, then.

Good job. Your wife is a lucky woman!

I like the idea of the Christmas ghost, too. They're just different, ya know.

Hey, Santa Baby, I bet Pete, or Snow Faery, or Kallie, or Wolfman might could help you out..there are several musicians in the house. 8) And I loved your song, a great start to what will be some more wonderful contributions from you I'm sure!!
