To a world full of wrong, He brought right
To a world dark with sin, He brought light
To a world lost and lonely where men blindly grope
He brought faith in the Lord, He brought hope
He brought love, He brought love
Cared enough to give His life for us
He is there to bear our burdens, He is there to lift us up
On that first Christmas morning, He brought love
To a world full of war, He brought peace
To a world dark with sin, He brought ease
To a world that was waiting for light from above
Most of all, most of all, He brought love
He brought love, He brought love
Cared enough to give His life for us
He is there to bear our burdens, He is there to lift us up
On that first Christmas morning, He brought love
Sing His praise through the ages, He brought love
A CHRISTMAS WISH
by Afterglow ( Utah singing duo)
from the album A CHRISTMAS WISH(1988)
Children sing of peace on earth
Good will to men today
But the world won't hear the message
That they have to say
Music that could help them find the way
People laugh enjoying holidays
And Christmas cheer
But they never seem to grasp the meaning
Of this time of year
Listening with hearts prepared to hear
A Christmas wish
That all the world could stand and be as one
To touch a heart, to show a friend the way
When all men wish and hope and try
The battle can be won
To bring the dawning of a brighter day
Nations cry while poverty and hunger
Take their toll
And their leaders search for meaning
While they lose their souls
How I hope someday they'll come to know
Long ago, He taught us how
To love our fellow men
And He showed us by example
How to lead a friend
How to help them find the light again
A Christmas wish
That all the world could stand and be as one
To touch a heart, to show a friend the way
When all men wish and hope and try
The battle can be won
To bring the dawning of a brighter day
