The Coffins

Post by Wraith » Sat Aug 12, 2006 8:18 am

Last year we tried something different. We built 5 coffins that we placed through our yard and had some friends lay in them. We filled them with candies and toys over top the bodies all except for one. The kids and adults both got quite a few scares when they would reach in and get grabbed by someone as they were trying to get their candy.
I was in the last coffin dressed as a Reaper, so of course when I sat up out of it everyone screamed and tried to run but the other coffins were also opening with people coming out.
It was prety fun and everyone who came by seemed to enjoy it.

Now that is cool. What a great idea!

That does sound like a lot of fun. It's a great idea because while you are having fun dressing up and scaring people, the kids are having a great time getting scared. I wish more people got into the Halloween spirit because I know it means alot to the kids.

My neighbors (also big Halloween fans) had a graveyard last year, and got one of the local teens to help by being covered in a big pile of leaves in front of one of the tombstones...looked like a fresh grave, right? They let the TOTs walk by up to the door, get their candy, and then on the way back down the walk, he sat up, moaning, and scared them silly. It was great!
