I did this one year, and they were so beautiful. You take gold spray paint and spray a DRY pumpkin, and then you spray it was spray adhesive and sprinkle glitter all over them...they last weeks and they are so nice.

Ok...so I am embarassed to say this BUT...have you seen those pumpkins that Martha Stewart painted black (last year and this year). They look so totally awesome. I'm going to have to do that.

I never thought about painting them other colors...like black!! Wow! I am going to do that too, I have glitter. I am going to sprinkle gold and silver glitter on them after painting them.

Speaking of Martha..

I fought for a while but I bought it today and wow. Her Spooky Sounds cd is pretty good! I'm listening to it at work. Yeah, that's how I know I'm a freak. LOL Whenever I'm feeling some Halloween blues, I throw on a sound effects cd, either Halloweeny music or creepy sounds and I feel better. It was only $9 at Tower. Pick it up if you haven't already.

Hey I think spray painting a pumpkin black sounds awesome, I think I will try that this year, does anyone know if you have it give the pumpkin a light sanding to get the paint to adhere to the surface?

No, just make sure it is dry. It will stick. I painted pumpkins black this past year. There are photos of them on here under the decorating thread. They were cool, I used the spray adhesive on them and put gold glitter on them.

I love Martha because I'm not entirely convinced that she is not the Prince(ss) of Darkness

Spray paint on pumpkins is okay, Jack-O-Lanterns must be natural. In my humble opinion.
