Baby proofing Christmas

Hi there everyone.
Im new to this board and was just wondering if I could throw a question out there and see if anyone has any suggestions. I have an 8 month old baby (my first) who should be crawling around by Christmas and was wondering if anyone had some good tips on how to baby proof my Chrismas decs, in particular my tree? I love making the room look really festive but want it to be safe too.
