Ideas please!

Post by mummynuts » Wed Oct 04, 2006 5:43 am

Hi,

am new to this site it's very good! We don't really make a lot of Halloween here in England and I was hoping to start a trend by decorating my front garden this year. Could anyone give me ideas for tomb stone inscriptions/joke names etc? (I have decided on a grave yard).

Many thanks.

Hiya, Have you been to ASDA (Walmart)? Its fab this year, try there website for the Halloween section.
Its fantastic for scene setters, or even Ebay for outside lighting...? They have some great outdoor self-inflatables!

Just a thought.

Good to see another Brit here tho. =)

These were taken from a website called true and funny tombstone epitaphs:

Here lies Jonathan Blake
Stepped on the gas instead of the brake

Here lies Butch
We planted him raw.
He was quick on the trigger
But slow on the draw.

He got a fishbone in his throat
and then he sang an angel note

Stranger tread
This ground with gravity.
Dentist Brown
Is filling his last cavity.

Jedediah Goodwin
Auctioneer
Born 1828
Going!
Going!!
Gone!!!
1876

Here lies
Johnny Yeast.
Pardon me
For not rising.

Here lies
an Atheist
All dressed up
And no place to go.

Cold is my bed, but oh, I love it,
For colder are my friends above it.

I was somebody.
Who, is no business
of yours.
"I dress this way just to keep them at bay 'cause Halloween is every day."-Ministry

I've been pleasantly surprised about what you can get from the internet these days. i've gotten some fabulous decorations & props and I got my costume from the net. Loads of American sites will deliver but there are now quite a few UK sites which have some good stuff.

Everyone thinks I'm a bit strange for making such a big deal about Halloween, but they really liked last year's Halloween party and this year is going to be SO much better. Only problem I'm having is cobwebs - would like a cobweb gun but I think the UK is about 10 years away from that at the moment!

I'm having a cemetary in my front lawn with strobes and sound effects (to mimic a storm) and I'm having a smoke machine in a cauldron to add to the spooky atmosphere.
