Costume HELP!!

Post by SpookShowBaby » Fri Sep 28, 2007 2:13 pm

I have decided to go as a Valkeryie for Halloween this year, the only problem I am running into is the breastplate. I can't seem to find one that will fit properly, it seems they are all made for people who are smaller on top (no offense to those people)!! Any suggestions? Thanks

Any way to put stretchy fabric on the sides of the breastplate (like under the arms) to give it a little more, well...give? Or attach it to a shirt or leotard or something that fits you so that it just sits on the front of your body.

You could get the breastplate custom made, although it will probably be pricey it would work best that way. You can find people who custom make such stuff usually hanging out at renaissance faires, I like to frequent renaissance faires so I know. You could also check on the internet for people who make such stuff.

How about you make one from cardboard & fiol to start then add paper mache? It's a thought. Witchy

Thanks for the tips! I made a top last night and it doesn't look quite right, I may have to modify the neckline. I still have a couple weeks to get this figured out . . .

Make a tight fitting stretchy shirt and spraypaint it gold/bronze with a few coats.
