That's always fun, but it can make you feel bad too, like why don't I decorate more?? :?

I wish more people would decorate. We walked around looking at houses every year but there are fewer people decorating. But honestly there are more getting back into it now. Gee I wish I still had those two old Lionel train sets my brother was given back in 1953. My dad discarded them when I was 10 years old.

Hey we are decorating beginning the last week in Sept. There are lots of Autumn wedding in my family this year and we need to start now with business of getting the house lit up.

Does anyone know of any Christmas traditions from Ireland? My brother-in-law is Irish and really into his heritage--I was hoping to find him a gift related to both Christmas and Ireland.

As I said in one of my post that everyone is celebrating this festival with their style and all the are very nice way to celebrate the festival. I also went in the night to see the christmas tree of everyone's home.

There are a few that I have had before I got married and that I still enjoy today. Such as sleeping by the Christmas Tree on Christmas Eve & placing the hand-made ornament my son made me as the first one each year on the tree and at the center (also the last one removed).
As a family, we do enjoy driving around to see some of the lighting displays (our street is on the Christmas Limo Tour). :P

For me my tradition is decorating before thanksgiving as it's one my mom started, then i enjoy going to christmas festivals and all the different shops as i enjoy the way they decorate and i'll hold a few small get togethers with close family and friends have some christmasy snacks and enjoy christmas carols playing. We enjoy our little moments as i'll have my grandmother's hot chocolate simmering on my woodstove and i do my own scents like pine and balsam as well as a few others,we'll go out and build snowmen or do snowangels.
