OBP, I did that frantic Christmas Eve shopathon once in my life and it just about planted me. I like to be done about a week before Christmas - with the exception of food gifts of course.

CK, you're not Mister Doomsday at all. You're a legal professional who probably sees this type of lunacy all too often. I know I do - especially in government law! OBP - if I knew how I'd add another lump of coal. :x

I thought it was called Black Friday because the shopping starts so darn early...it's dark outside. Happy to say I avoided that mess and slept in. I managed to score some good deals Saturday afternoon and didn't have to fight crowds.

Silver Belle, she certainly is a spoiled kitty. My daughter accused me of loving Ally more than her just because I buy the kitty Fancy Feast food. Well, just to prove her wrong I put a can of Fancy Feast in daughter's school lunch bag (freshman in high school, surrounded by friends in the cafeteria ...

Oh Mel, I feel your impending pain...cat climbing tree. Trust me....Bagheera WILL climb the tree. I've tried citrus spray (supposed to be yucky to felines), orange peels, spraying kitty with water, etc. Nothing works but good 'ol wire or rope tied to a solid support. Now, I make sure Ally has a comf...

My first Christmas as a married lady was my first and last real tree mishap - went to artificial from then on. We picked out a beautiful tree from a tree lot and took it home. We were having a party on the 15th of December that year and wanted the tree all decorated. The night of the party comes and...

My in-laws live three houses down from me  and I kept having to borrow things like sugar, flour, eggs, milk, etc. because my memory is like a colander and I kept forgetting what I needed at the store. Anyway, last Christmas I decided to make my mother-in-law a gift basket containing brand new ...

That's a clever idea! My kids are teens now but when they were little I used to make reindeer food with oatmeal and glitter and let them sprinkle it outside. When they were in bed I'd make reindeer tracks in the snow all around the "food". The kids loved it! I miss that part of the holidays now that...

What a lovely tree and dining table setting! Santa Baby, you are a very talented decorator. I have a pre-lit tree year round in my bedroom, one in the kitchen, one in the livingroom, and a little one on a table top...usually wherever I can find space.

My house looked like an abandoned building once I took my Halloween down so I've been collecting a bit of Thanksgiving decor just to fill in the gaps. Once I set up the extension cords outside and inside for Halloween I just keep them in place for Christmas lights so no going back to everyday decor ...
