This story is FALSE, an urban legend. The guidelines that Westaff, an Australian recruitment and training company, gave for their Santa Claus trainees, had nothing to do with the American slang word "ho" for "whore".

Growing up on Lake Michigan's Wisconsin shore, I read about the Christmas tree ship's sorry fate. A touching story, but depressing. Sank the same year as the Titanic.

The most famous Christmas ghost story is of course A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, who wrote several others.



Jo-Anne Christensen has written two volumes of Christmas ghost stories, but the customer reviews at Amazon.com are negative.
