Re: What do you do the night before christmas?

Once everyone has arrived or got home from work we'll have a meal, nothing too heavy so as not to fill up before Christmas Day itself. The prepar...

Re: when do you decorate?

Usually the first weekend of December here, sometimes a little earlier depending on how busy things are. I'd happily have the decorations up in late November, but others in my family are not so keen!

Re: Odd movies that you associate with Christmas?

I'm going to add Casablanca to my earlier list. Watched it at a few Christmases back and have watched it again the last couple of years too. Could buy myself a copy, but I'm hoping it is on the TV schedule again and I can keep up the tradition.

Re: Odd movies that you associate with Christmas?

There are definitely some movies that I first saw around Christmas time and whenever I've sinced watched them I've been reminded of the holiday season and when I first watched them. Films like Seabiscuit, High Fidelity and Good Will Hunting, great movies. There are also the family movies like Toy St...

Re: What constitutes a Christmas song?

No I think I was a bit quick to generalise a "carol" as a song solely to do with Jesus' birth. Though they are that, you could also count traditional songs like 'We Wish You A Merry Christmas' as a carol too. Thanks for picking me up on that. :)

Considering you posted this a year ago I'm not sure you'll even see this reply, but no I haven't, but I read something about it and was wondering if it was any good. I might check it out sometime.

Whether it is Christmas carols to do with the baby Jesus and the whole story of Mary and Joseph, or more modern festive pop songs, both play a significant part in setting the mood for the holidays. That is definitely the case for ...

I will generally say Merry Christmas, but I think Happy Christmas or Happy Holidays is fine too. It is all about the spirit of how you say things that matters.

Wow, I don't know about you guys, but these past couple of weeks in the lead up to Christmas have flown by! Most of the preparations I needed to do are sorted so I'm going to sit back and enjoy the rest of the build up.
