Homemade Vanilla Extract

I came across a way to make homemade vanilla extract and thought that I would share. Not only does homemade vanilla extract taste so much better than commercial, but it can also be given to friends and families as a homemade Christmas gift. All you need for this recipe is vodka, vanilla beans, and g...

Re: when do you decorate?

This year my family is going to begin decorating after Thanksgiving. We will bring in the tree, set it up and decorate it. After that, we will gradually decorate the rest of the house during the week.

Recipe for Chocolate Mice

I found this recipe for chocolate mice earlier and though it would be a great Christmas recipe to share. I think it would go perfect with a reading of "A Night Before Christmas". I found it on All Recipes. Ingredients 4 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate 1/3 cup sour cream 1 cup chocola...

Re: What do you do the night before christmas?

In my family, we have a big Christmas dinner and then open the presents underneath the Christmas tree. We started doing this, because my parents were divorced and we spent Christmas Eve at my mom's house. Santa would then fill up the stockings and leave one or two presents under the tree.

Odd movies that you associate with Christmas?

One of the main movies I associate with Christmas is Edward Scissorhands. I think it is because for many years during my childhood, it came on every year ...

Re: Real or artificial tree?

I'm getting a real tree this year again. Last year I didn't have enough money to buy a real tree so I thought I still had my trusty old artificial tree in the basement but I forgot I got rid of it about 8 yrs ago. So I put the lights on a big indoor potted tree I have. It worked!

Re: Christmas Gift Tag Ideas

What about recycling last years Christmas cards by cutting out part of the picture on the card and tracing a blank piece of paper to fit behind it and securing with a red or green colored yarn or ribbon and using this for a tag. You could write the recipients name on the blank paper beneath the cut ...
