Thanks Dudley, I have a giant Holly Tree right outside my kitchen window, so I was able to cut some sprigs off of it for garnishing stuff. It was alot of fun. This next weekend, for Christmas Eve, I am going to a party that my brother in law is doing, and he is a professional caterer, so I'll try an...

I watched the movie "Bed of Roses" last night. It stars Christian Slater and Mary Stuart Masterson. I like it. It has a whole Christmas scene in it, and the house in it reminds me of my own, so I love it. Plus, her favorite flowers in that movie are also my favorite flowers, and my husband...

Evil Mel and Hooch-your houses are both so neat and tidy looking- very well done.

I am so glad to see more people getting in to the spirit of things.

I posted a picture of the outside of my house on here somewhere, but I can't remember where.

I forgot about this classic- Ernest Saves Christmas I think we'll watch it on party night too. I think it is hysterical. Another great Disney movie to watch is: The Snowball Express My Uncle's mother wrote the book that Walt Disney bought the rights to, and turned it in to the Snowball Expres...

Mine is up, and has been up since before Thanksgiving. My mom said when she was a kid, it was a tradition to put the tree up on Christmas Eve, and then they left it up until New Year's Day. It seems like that would never have been a long time, but I swear it feels like time stood still a long time a...

Christmas Cards

I was addressing Christmas cards all day today. If I haven't talked to someone in awhile, I always write a personalized letter with the card. I have to say this.....this is my biggest pet peeve about cards- is people who write a "form" letter...which is a summation of their life of the pas...

Hooch-I just sent you an email, before relooking at this thread, sorry. I get both those magazines, but I haven't ordered anything from either one of them in years, and I haven't even looked through one in forever. Do they have a name? I could search on the internet for them. It is a cool idea. They...

Stockings

Do you guys hang them? I always loved looking in my stocking when I was a kid, I always got 1 little cool present in there, but my mom always gave us an apple, an orange and 5 pennies wrapped in aluminum foil-because that is what my grandma got every year when she was a kid, and my mom thought it wa...

Peanut Brittle

Does anyone have a recipe for it?? My Aunt use to make it, and she died 7 years ago, and I miss it so much, because I miss her. She use to swap me it for shortbread, cause she never could get shortbread to come out right. I never attempted to make peanut brittle, but I love it. Does anyone make it e...
